Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2
Mon Apr 30, 2018 12:14 am
Today is the day of combat! The students sit down to be greeted by Vigil, interrupted by the Bell, then re-greeted by Vigil.
"Good morning everyone, I hope you rested well, because today we are going to run you through the wringer again. Today we will be doing Combat Training; one of the core requirements of being a hero is being able to stop violent Villains. Our first event will be simple, it's called Bomb Threat. This will test your ability to find and eliminate a threat with the presence of enemies. We will be splitting into groups of two, and pitted against each other in a Four Floor Building. One team will be the villains, who must prevent the heroes from reaching the bomb, or restrain the heroes, while the heroes must breach the facility and defuse the bomb, or capture the villains. Regardless of which team you fall on, you must learn how to think as both sides; know thy enemy."
Vigil paces as he explains, pointing to a few images on the board. "You will be given a blueprint of the building, and your Hero Costumes arrived this morning; they are stored in the wall compartments at the end of each row of desks. So, change into your costumes, White Out and myself will meet you in Training Block Alpha in 10 minutes.
Upon reaching Training Block Alpha, Vigil calls out sets of numbers; your student numbers, and the teams are formed:
Team A: Lyon and Finn!
Team B: Geoff and Vesper!
Team C: Cassandra and Riley!
Team D: Scarlet and Allison!
Team E: Les and Accel!
Team F: Zip and Son!
Team G: Edith and Vivian!
Team H: Dahlia and Sophia!
Vigil allows some time for teams to get together before continuing to explain and match you up to your opponents.

AH YES, COMBAT TRAINING! ONE OF THE BEST PLACES FOR QUIRKS TO SHOW OFF! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Les attempts to hold back their hype long enough to get out to the field, but still borderline sprints their way outside. Their costume is a sleek full-body suit, a black outer plate connected to a white inner plate by a neon-purple strip, with additional neon purple highlights across the joints, chest, and palms. His helmet has a retractable glass visor over his face and solar-panel looking crest slightly protruding across the top of the head to give it a more robust / recognizable flair. After the teams get revealed, Les excitedly seeks out their partner--
"Hey, you're Geoff right? With the wind quirk? That seems really strong!" Les looks about, checking out the other teams as they gather, adding "This is gonna be so good..!"

How exciting! To think they'd be doing such a training so soon; that's UA for you! Scarlet's face lights up slightly (not literally) as she goes about getting ready, casually asking mostly to herself yet still aloud, "I wonder who will end up together.."
Walking out to the training, Scarlet stands proud as she marvels at her costume in the morning sun. The core of the costume is a red dress, gilded golden bracers adorns her forearms and lower legs, a slim tiara holds her hair back while a bright orange cape sweeps down from one shoulder down to just past the backs of her knees. A brown belt and gold buckle accent the front, acting to break up the almost excessive red. "This actually came out quite nice, didn't it?"
Once the teams are announced, Scarlet takes a moment to compose herself. Lyon seems a bit unapproachable, but, maybe it's just a facade? You can't want to be a hero and be a truly bad person. Either way, it'll do no good to act like a stranger, especially to a practice partner. Not sure what his costume is, she looks for someone kind of off to the side in the group, probably avoiding eye contact, and approaches with mild caution.
"Ahem, um, you are Lyon, right? I'm Scarlet, it looks like we're going to be working together." She does her best to give an inviting smile, she's not quite sure how to deal with his type.

The announcement of practical training is the first thing this school year that genuinely excites Lyon, One of his primary reasons for applying to UA was to experience the schools unorthodox educational system as opposed to classical schooling which doesn’t have any real world applications in the Hero business.
Lyon doesn’t seem outwardly excited, rather he is just less tense than usual. He dons his costume and heads to the training site with his peers. The costume is a full body flexible material that looks like a collection of steel ropes that follow the contours of the various muscle groups. Interspliced with these steel ropes are neon tubes that all display a vibrant orange glow. (although Lyon can change the color of this display at will his default color of choice is orange.) The headpiece is separate from the main body but follows the same design style, along with featuring a tinted visor that matches the color of the neon tubes. Attached to the wrists are some LED flashlights that provide material for Lyon to use in dark environments.
When teams are announced Lyon is initially ignorant of who his partner was, as he had only bothered to fully memorize two people in the class. Those being Son and Riley. As for everyone else, he either couldn’t identify them at all or could only identify them by some trait that annoyed him. For example the obnoxious bat kid that came to class through the window on the first day.
Eventually Lyon’s partner finds him and makes first contact. “Yes, I’m Lyon.” He replies. “So what is your quirk exactly? I have the ability to solidify light, creating various objects, but mostly just barriers.”

Hero costumes? Teams? Villains? Kani hadn't expected they would get their hero costumes so soon, she had spent weeks over the summer agonizing over what her costume should look like and how to make it accentuate her quirk. Eventually she decided on forgoing anything very flashy and instead drew some inspiration from one of her favorite heroes, one she had always admired from the moment she had learned about them. She clutches the case containing her uniform and waits about awkwardly before she shuffles into the girl's room and goes to the farthest stall to change. She hoped no one thought it would be weird, and especially hoped her teammate didn't find it strange, whoever they wound up being.
Eventually Kani makes her way out onto the training field where the rest of the students are already starting to gather. Procrastinate as she might she never fails to arrive at least respectably close to on time. Her hero costume is deceptively simple, a modest keikogi of pure white, accented with lavender purple and with somewhat loose bottoms though they were only so loose as to her knees where they became bound tightly to her legs thanks to being tucked into a pair of grey tabi boots. Likewise her top tunic was sleeveless and instead opted for a grey skin-tight long sleeve undershirt. A lavender colored skin tight masked covered her neck and the lower portion of her face including her nose and where she would normally be wearing glasses instead a more sturdy pair of goggles served to correct her vision. Her hair still visible and still pulled back into the long braided ponytail she normally kept it in.
As she stands about with her hands crossed in front of her, staring at the ground in attempt to avoid attracting anyone's gaze she hears Vigil call out their teams Allison, that's the girl with the long scaly tail right? The one who got really attached to Scarlet after she started to explain her quirk. After mentally going over who her teammate supposedly was she finally looked up in attempt to track her down. Giving a somewhat timid wave once she spotted her to signal she was Allison's teammate, in case she had forgotten who Kani was, or just didn't know to begin with. She wouldn't fault Allison for not knowing or remembering.

Fighting comes a little more naturally to mutation quirks, it's harder to avoid using it plus you have a more openly imposing appearance. Needless to say, it's still cool, Allison gets prepared with a hint more intensity than she normally bears herself with, eyes wider and more perceptive. She arrives on the field in her costume, er, more like armor; A fiery crest fits from behind her eyes and onto her spiky neck-scales, several plates add shiny flair to her tail, plate-mail-esq steel covers her front, decorative arm-plates and shoulder scales complete the outfit, giving an overall draconic / knight look. She flicks her tail a few times, quietly delighted by the sounds of metal clacking. The teams are announced, and Allison takes a few moments trying to remember who Kani is. Introductions... quirk assessment...?? Not ringing a bell. A meek looking girl waves to her as she scans the crowd, so she figures that's her.
"No armor? You know we're going to be fighting, right?" She says without really thinking-- doesn't everyone want armor? Remembering her manners a moments later, she proceeds; "Oh, I'm Ally by the way, and I suppose you're Kani?"

Kani was, to say the least, a bit intimidated by Allison's choice of hero costume. The armor looked heavy and imposing but as the other girl approached her she steeled her resolve. 'I'm a hero, heroes don't get intimidated. Heroes save people with a smile!' She thought before she remembered her own hero costume had a mask that covered her face. She turned around, a dark cloud appearing over her head as she scolded herself for making such a mistake. Nobody could see her smile if she had a mask on! Though on the other hand, no one could see her be nervous either... That was a good trade, right? Oh, wait Allison is coming this way! She spins back around fanning herself quickly with one hand to look like she was just chilling though she really just looked like she was being nervous.
Oh, she didn't know who she was. Her heart sunk a little but she ignored it. She was pretty forgettable after all. She quickly offered a sharp bow to Allison. "I'm Kani! K-kani Callahan! Yes!" She confirmed the other girl's guess before snapping back up and hugging one arm. "Oh, well the martial arts I've been trained in requires a lot of movement and flexibility... armor slows me down and makes it hard for me to have a full range of movements." She pokes her pointer fingers together while looking down. "Plus with my quirk a lot of attacks don't even have any effect on me." She adds hoping Allison doesn't take it as an insult to her armor.

It's hard not to be excited about this, really. This right here is what they're all here for, after all, this is the whole point of all the effort put in to making it into the hero course. So, almost as soon as Vigil announces what they'll be doing, Vesper's grinning, the urge to grab his hero costume and dart to the locker room only barely contained. He gets ready more hurriedly than usual, hardly even paying attention to his classmates until they're all walking out to the training ground for their first impressions.
Vesper's costume itself is simple, a slim-fitting black bodysuit that covers him from the top of his neck to his feet. Save for the brown leather belt and holster-style pouches on his thighs, there's no real color to the costume, no accents, and the only detail being slight, subtle paneling of a thicker armored material. There's a pair of goggles hung around his neck, too, though the lenses on them are opaque black, completely cutting off vision if he were to put them on.
He listens as Vigil announces their matchups, even as he's looking around the rest of the class as they gather, taking stock of their costumes and of the combinations as they're called out. He makes a note of a few particularly interesting combinations - Geoff and Les, Edith and Son, Finn and Accel all in particular - and waits for Vigil to finish before he finds Zip in the crowd and approaches him with a wave.

Edith makes it to Training Block Alpha, wearing her costume. It's a form fitting, turquoise and green outfit, with long sleeves and leggings, but also a pink skirt draped over her waist in the shape of a flower. Her seed pack rests neatly on top of the skirt on her back, and her fingerless gloves match the color of her skirt and boots.
She is apparently being paired with Son. That should be... interesting. "Hi, Son. Let's do our best, okay?"

Accel excitedly pulls out his hero costume, and holds it close to his chest. Oh boy. He waits until some of the others he is closest to have theirs, the one he has a repertoire built up with, namely Vivian, Son and Vesper, and heads on down with them.
Accel shows up to the Training Block Alpha, and is excited to hear himself get called off in the second team. That's a good sign.
And he's with...Finn?
Wait. The beetle guy?
He smiles wide.
"Fuck yeah, yeah."
He holds out an extended arm for a spartan shake with his new best bud.
"We should combo pretty well. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, but I've got some ideas, yeah."
Fully changed, Accel's outfit consists of long black gloves that reach his mid-forearm, with royal blue lightning streaks twisting around from the back of the hand to the wrist. His skin is revealed from below the elbow to the shoulder area, meeting a black skin tight "tanktop," with two small v-slits cut underneath his armpits, and where the top meets his waist. The royal blue lightning continues on his top, twisting about from behind his shoulder, going down his back and then around and under his armpits, coming to his front mid-way through his torso and streaking down near the center of his waist.
He has a black belt with much too many blue straps and pouches, and white tight-er pants with black leather leg straps about the thighs, with two long and thin holsters each. As well, he has dark blue rimmed face-fitting goggles reminiscent of a classic era black eye mask, and dark blackout eyeshadow over his eyes.
Accel is ready for combat.

Oh HELL yeah! Son hops up, changes, and sprints to the Training Block, thoughts of initiative rolls and shonen fight scenes rattling around in their head.
They arrive at the field in costume - a navy blue jumpsuit with scale patterns in sea green, ending with silver buckles at the knees and elbows and leaving forearms and calves bare. A pair of silver toe shoes covers their feet, and their head is unseen behind a strange helmet. Three heads, each with a visor over the eyes and an elongated, alligator-like snout, sprout from the neck of the costume, one on either side of Son's actual head.
They smile behind the mask as Vigil calls out the team numbers - of course they're on the first team, how are you going to retake the holy land when you're not leading the charge? Finding Edith is easy, and Son jogs over to her. Their voice is a little muffled and their face is hidden, but the smile in their voice is pretty clear.
"Our best? Do we have to? I was all super excited and shit to do my worst and not try at all, actually. Maybe use like, one quirk, at most, you know?"

As Riley
Thu May 10, 2018 7:18 pm
It doesn't matter how fast the rest of you think you are going, Riley is without a question the first one at that training block, decked out in her full costume that surprises literally no one with its design -- A skin tight white shirt bedazzled to all hell with the phrase 'Road Warrior' Across it, over it is a thick leather jacket, sleeveless and covered with various sizes and shapes of spikes, with another bedazzled phrase on the back of the coat reading 'Highway Star' Are these hero names? Who knows, Riley certainly doesn't. Anyone caring to lower their gaze would find a pair of tight fitting Jean shorts that are heavily customized to have leather patches in protective places making them look thicker -- And speaking of thick, this is the first time anyone was able to get a good look at the radical girls legs, they are heavily muscled and tense and twitch as she moves around, covered by a pair of black knee socks that end with a thick pair of knee-pads. Her boots are strange as well as they go up to her thigh, each boot having a knife strapped to either side. The whole look is brought together with her typical shades and a bright red shade of lipstick, and you better believe she's rocking some old fashioned biker gloves. -- She's also got what looks like a triple-barreled shotgun hanging from her back.
Riley motors on over to June and does a quick spin around them before saying "Yo~"

Zip looks at Vigil, takes a swig of his scalding tea, coughs a little, and walks over to his hero costume. Everyone was very lively this morning, but Zip didn't sleep well, he fried his AC again, and had to keep the window open all night, which lead to him listening to... something scream? Who knows. Still, he was excited, and wasn't about to let him being a little tired get in the way of him starting combat off.
Zips Costume was a little... Edgy to say the least, but he wanted that, something that was polar opposite of who he was. He wore a skintight long sleeve turtle neck shirt that ran all the way up his neck, made out of a stretchy kind of material that wouldn't hamper any sort of electrical feedback. He then donned a long, trench-coat business suit like jacket, that was more loose on him. He wore a pair of what looked like black jeans, but where more athletic wear that just looked like jeans, and a pair of black combat boots. To make it all better, he had a mesh mask that was made of the same material as his shirt covering the bottom of his face. On his forehead, he wore a black bandanna, with white lightning streaking all across it. The only skin you could see where from his eyes up, and his hands, which had his black lightning birthmark running over them.
Least to say, he felt bad-ass. At first, he thought the costume would be hot and restricting, but it was actually really airy, and seemed to flow naturally with his movements.
Once Zip changes, he takes his time walking to the training field, taking in every step. The pairs were interesting, he was very excited to work with Vesper, but was nervous to go against the other teams. There were some students who didn't really show off their quirks, which made it hard for him to come up with any sort of idea of what to do. Still, he had another brain to bounce ideas off of, so there was no need to rush, Vesper and him could come up with something, that Zip was sure.
Once he got to the field, he stayed a little behind the group, taking in everyone costumes. Some were futuristic, others were full on armor, while others were more like his. He notices Vesper wave at him, so he returns with a wave and a smile that Vesper probably couldn't see because of his mask.
"Gooooood Morning, you ready to get this shindig rolling?"

Walking onto the training field, Finn is wearing nothing but his chain covered cargo pants and combat boot. On his upper-body, black and red war paint shines off his carapace.
"Hmm where is he..." Finn scans the field looking for his teammate. Finding him, he walks up an says, "Hey partner, ready to bust some skulls?" with a very wide smile.

The next exciting day at hero school begins! She was barely able to sleep the night before, her thoughts keeping her up. Head swirling with ideas of quirks she had never seen before. She was jittery in her seat, being fueled only by the power of Coffee and Kibas nudging her to sit up straight when she would slouch over and consider sleep.
It only took a few words from Vigil to jump start her body into pumping out new energy. This was one of the top schools, she couldn't have expected anything less on day two then some insane exercise like this. And they got their hero costumes already too!? Holy fuck dudes. She stood up and walked over with everyone else to pull out her costume. She spins it around and gives it a full look before running off to go get changed. A very large wolf jogging in tow behind her.
She walked out on the field, seemingly a little embarrassed as she wore. She was dressed as little red Riding hood, A white short sleeved blouse with a black leather corset looking middle. It wasn't tight at all and more so acted as some light armor for her midsection and stomach. Her skirt was white and torn, reaching just a small bit above her knees with red fabric layered over it. Completed with black kneesocks and well.. A hood. A red hood and cape also slightly roughed up. When she put the hood on her head It had little red ears sewn into it. The look was completed with the dark looming Wolf over her shoulder.
She waved at some of her friends, sticking beside Vesper, Accel, and Son who she didn't know as well since Accel seemed to sorta lump her in with his group. It made her happy to feel like she made some friends already until-- Kiba tugged her. His eyes staring straight at Cassandra and signaling Vivian to walk over with him and introduce herself.
She stuck her hand out to the girl and smiled wide. " Looks like we will be working together, Im Vivian. Quirk Wolf pack, I hope we can make a good team!"
Kiba nodded at Vivian. Good job. He didn't have much to say himself though.

Geoff

Carefully Geoff put on his costume, going through the motions in his head as he equipped each piece -- Thermal underwear and long-sleeve under shirt, check. Blue Jump-suit with his Hero name SKY-HIGH going along one of the legs, check. Winged boots? Check. Goggles with wings on them, check.
Geoff paused to look himself over before pulling on his classic flight jacket, along with his fingerless gloves and then finally -- Two long forearm length tubes that attached to his forearms and did not seem to cause him any issues with his movement -- Afterwards he made his way straight to the training block to be greeted by Les.
"I have to admit, I'm pretty nervous - I've never used my quirk on a person before." Geoff admits maybe a little too loudly.

"Yeah, using our quirks on others makes me want to hold back just a bit, I've only ever hurt myself using it. At least I know what it feels like if I go overboard, hahaha!"
Les says that honestly, they've had their fair share of self-sustained injury as they learned how to use their quirk, it didn't help that the combination of quirks making his own didn't have nearly the same power scale to give him an example to follow. Playing around at full power sounds tempting, but even knowing the ability of the UA nurses.. It's a heavy responsibility to be so powerful. He looks towards Vigil awaiting the match-up assignments.

As the class is dismissed, Cassandra pops out of her chair with a cheer, she's clearly excited. As everyone hustles to get ready, she makes a few one-sided comments such as "Are you READY FOR THIS?!" and "I'm HYYYYYPE~!!" Making her way out to the field with some other students, she muses on, "I wonder who we get paired up with... will we get to pick?"
Her costume is reminiscent of an over-the-top kpop outfit, white leggings and leotard are contrasted by tie-dye pom-pom cuffs and anklets, and a rainbow fur-coat draped across her shoulders. She places a set of sparkly, fabulous shades over her eyes to complete the set, finishing with "Okay, now all I need some bubblegum, and I'll be full Diva, right?!" It's a little over the top, but heroes are supposed to make a scene! As her team is announced, she hops on over to Vivian.
"Awesome! I can't wait! I'm Cassandra if you missed it, and my quirk is..." She reaches to pat Kiba, a few strands of hair sticking into his fur. She drops her shades and winks, "You'll see soon enough."

As: Dahlia
Sun May 13, 2018 12:25 am
Dahlia seems to hold some reserve for combat training; Is this what it means to be a hero? The questions for another time, she get's ready without any complaint and walks to the field. Her outfit is elegant and striking, a French style Masquerade mask across her face shimmers with a deep obsidian trimmed in gold, a few decorative feathers fastened to one side. A white lace dress flows to the floor, ribbon-y ink stencil designs giving a Gothic aesthetic. Her arms are uncovered, as are her legs below the knees, her feet tucked in low-heels. Her dark purple lipstick and finger nails stand out against the pure white of her skin.
A little embarrassed, or at least hesitant, Dahlia sticks to the back of the group as teams are called out. Jon... the boy with painted nails; she had remembered him by that, and the bird didn't hurt his presence either. "Hey, you're Jon.. right? I'm Dahlia, it's nice to meet you." Her voice is very quiet, but her words are precise and well spoken.

Sophia adjusts her gloves uncomfortably as the topic of combat training is brought up. This could get... messy. Curious about her costume's built in safeguards she asked for, she feels a bit more confident putting it on and checking it out before going out to the field.
Her costume is simple, silver and black patterns give her a video game ninja look, complete with a chain-embedded bandanna over her mouth. Her now metal gloved hands have a split line tracing back to her wrists, nothing covers any of her joints, and a banded ridge lines her arms and legs. She looks at her hand and flexes a bit, a more reassured look on her face now.
Her partner is Elliot-- they didn't. Do anything during The assessments did they? That's alright, she wasn't very flashy herself. Actually, it's better this way, it'll make things less awkward. She pulls down her face mask to speak clearly, and approaches him. "Elliot? I'm Sophia." She's close enough to shake hands but instead goes for a modest wave.

"Ah- Hello"
Elliot had been glancing among the other students, and he quickly reaches out for the handshake that does not exist. Worst possible Scenario. His hand whips back up into an awkward wave. He'd been considering whether or not his own costume fit in line with the others'. It held little function, aside from pockets and easy motion. A close fitting short sleeved shirt, slightly baggier pants absolutely littered with pockets, and what Elliot could only sheepishly describe as a 'butt cape'. One could discern a love of purple from the outfit, linings of any sort sported the color, but mostly the outfit was a simple black. A belt covered in various and sundry pouches rested easily on his waist.
It was time to recover from his blunder. "Yes I'm Elliot, nice to meet you Sophia. I'll be doing my best to support you." Elliot smiles and nods, mostly to himself.
Elliot remembers that he has done nothing to demonstrate any ability whatsoever.
"A-and also I do have a quirk! And it should be very useful here. I think."

Hugh notices Dahlia first - with a sharp twitch of his neck and flick of his head, he caws at her approach. Jon turns, revealing a white bird-like mask with large circular lenses over the eyes, lending it the appearance of an avian skull. The rest of his outfit is simple, tactical and utilitarian - a black hooded jumpsuit underneath a padded vest covered in pouches and straps, fingerless gloves and soft padded boots. In his hands he's holding a new friend - a sleek brown rat, sniffing curiously as he strokes its fur.
"Oh. Hello. Your costume looks nice.." he glances down awkwardly and shuffles his feet. "This is Judas," he says, lifting the rat slightly for emphasis. "And you met Hugh already," he says, shrugging the shoulder where his raven perches.
Upon closer inspection, both of the animals have tiny vests of their own, cleverly designed to mimic the color and texture of their feathers and fur.

Re: Battle Training! Show Us What You've Got! -- Week 2

The moment that combat is announced, June starts speeding through possible matchups in her head. There's a lot of fast quirks that might be tough to go against. June is strong, but she's not the fastest. Trying to fight against someone more dexterous than her might be tough. Geoff is super fast. Accel too. Man, even Riley. Wait, doesn't Zip turn into lightning? Fuck, that's crazy. How do you stop literal lightning? If she could find a way to cut off anyone with speed with some type of bone barrier and pull them close to her, she'd be able to take them out. Or maybe she'd have to get the jump on them by charging her shots. Wait, is this a "don't stab your classmates" type exercise? Blunt shots it is, then. Wouldn't want to fail because you accidentally sprung a bone through someone's gut. That's a dumb reason to get a bad grade.
Her thoughts are racing all the way from the classroom to the training block. When she steps out into the block, still with a distant expression and lost in thought, she's fully decked out in her hero costume. It's a full body hero suit, only revealing her lower face. The whole thing is made out of black breathable fabric, designed to protect against damage, but also stretch to allow for her bone growths to pass through without ripping up the costume. She's destroyed too many pairs of shoes with her bone stilts to not make sure that's a feature. The combat boots she's wearing give her a couple inches lift, but also have a space underneath to allow her stilts to pass through. The whole costume is accented with a different texture black fabric, forming armor like padding that resembles various bones and muscles. The front especially is detailed with a ribcage pattern, as well as a zipper going straight down the middle. However, what stands out the most on the costume is the face mask, which is shaped like a skull in exactly the same color as her bone growths. The whole thing is cool, but not as flashy as many other hero costumes. She wanted function over fashion and basically let the company take as many artistic liberties as they wished.
June only stops thinking to hear all the matchups. There's some really interesting ones, especially her own. Her and Riley? Was that really a random draw? Riley's quirk will compliment her own quirk wonderfully. Riley's speed will make up for her lack there of. At least that's one worrisome matchup that she won't have to be concerned about.
As June is thinking about the benefits of her teammate, Riley has already sped over and made a lap around her. Damn, there's really a contrast between their costumes, huh? The whole getup really breaks her out of being lost in thought. "Oh, hey. Good to have you as a teammate." June offers her a vaguely friendly look. She's not much of a smiler. "I can always benefit from working with someone fast." She smiles at that. She's not a people person, but boy, is she a combat enthusiast.

As Vigil and White-Out
Mon May 14, 2018 11:29 pm
A loud pop would be heard, gaining the attention of most of the students right from the get-go, Vigil having fired a race-starting gun to do so before tucking it into his belt casually before moving his hand to press into his eye-patch. His good eye would bounce around as he looked to see he had everyone's attention as the classes assigned medical officer arrived beside him. Looking very disheveled and tired, White out casually stretched themselves out with a couple of simple movements -- Still wearing the same outfit from the day before save for the fact their lab-coat is buttoned up to hide most of their dirty shirt, so you can only really see the words 'HERO'. Outside of that they are wearing a new addition -- What appears to be a large syringe with tubes running into her arm, and around her waist was a medical kit.
Vigil finally stops putting pressure on his eye-patch and speaks finally.
"Right -- I'll be selecting teams, two at a time that will be competing with each other in a basic hero training simulation.
There will be two teams a 'Hero' team and a 'Villain' team -- The training itself will take place in a randomly selected building on-site for each set of teams. The rules of engagement are as follows. "
Vigil nervously reaches into his backpack and produces a small booklet before speaking.
"The objective of this training is promoting team-work between students, the random nature of the selection is to prepare students for the fact they will not be in control of who they are working with in the future, and that teamwork between hero's is essential. The hero team will be tasked with entering a pre-selected building and seeking out and destroying a faux bomb that the villain team is tasked with protecting. The exercise is over once either, the bomb is touched, the villains are captured or the hero's are captured, using this."
Vigil produces a a length of tough looking material.
"If this capture tape is wrapped around, and tied a hero or villain, they are considered captured and must leave the exercise site. This isn't the only way, if at any point a hero or villain says they surrender or become unable to fight, they are also considered captured. Finally, if I call for an exercise to stop -- Stop right away."
Vigil gestures to a bunch of ear pieces on a table "These will let you speak with your team-mate, but of course I'll be listening in and grading your performance, and watching via secruity camera's -- Try not to destroy those."
"Now, Lets draw the teams -- White Out?"
White Out stands by absent mindedly for at least a minute before blinking and coming to attention "Huh! R-right!"
Carefully, White-Out draws the teams that will be facing each other!
Team J: June and Riley! Heroes! Verses Team I: Vivian and Cassandra! Villains!
Team G: Zip and Vesper! Heroes! Verses Team E: Elliot and Sophia! Villains!
Team A: Edith and Son! Heroes! Verses Team H: Lyon and Scarlet! Villains!
Team D: Geoff and Les! Heroes! Verses Team C: Allison and Kani! Villains!
Team B: Finn and Accel! Heroes! Verses Team F: Jon and Dahlia! Villains!
Vigil pauses as he stares at White-Out, impressed with her announcer voice as she goes through the match-ups in dramatic fashion.

Lyon immediately looks to Son once it is revealed that they will be competing against each other directly. Son was the person in class that Lyon was most intrigued by, and the one Lyon most wanted to destroy. There could only be one snarky condescending person in the class and it was going to be Lyon.
Lyon had previously taken note of the similarities between Son’s Quirk and his own. He had come to the conclusion that his quirk is probably better in this situation but conceded to himself that Son’s may have an advantage in certain environments. Still, Lyon was confident in his ability and was sure that victory would be his.
As Lyon finished that last thought he remembered that this is a team game and that he needed to consider their partners power as well. Edith could prove troublesome, her plants could possess enough power to punch through a wall of his. However, Edith’s power is a double edged sword in this matchup because it would be providing fuel for Scarlet’s flames, giving us much more material to work with. This was indeed going to be an interesting matchup.
When teams are sent to starting positions, Lyon walks past Son and makes a remark as he passes by them. “See you inside, Hero” he says this in a slightly condescending manner.
